StrmMusic, the music career accelerator, is announcing a major global distribution partnership with YouTube. As a preferred partner, StrmMusic will now be able to offer artists even stronger relationships with this crucial service, reinforcing its commitment to providing real growth tools, personalized support, and data intelligence for independent artists around the world.
StrmMusic has become a direct partner for monetization and content growth with YouTube. The partnership is global, available in over 100 countries and more than 80 languages. Artists can monetize any original content published on YouTube that’s connected to a channel approved under StrmMusic’s network, including music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, tour diaries, and studio sessions. StrmMusic acts as a facilitator, providing artists — particularly emerging talent — with the expertise to unlock their potential on YouTube and grow their careers sustainably. To participate, the artist must have an active distribution or advance agreement with StrmMusic.
“We are strengthening our relationships with important music services in ways we know will benefit our artists, increase their earnings, and expand their audiences,” explains Fernando Gabriel, co-founder and CEO of StrmMusic. “Our new direct relationship with YouTube builds on our already robust deals to give more opportunities to our +60,000 artists worldwide.”
This recent agreement with YouTube is the latest step in forging a new international presence for the fast-growing artist services company. Founded in Brazil with a new North American headquarters in Chicago, StrmMusic has pioneered a data-driven way for artists to grow their careers. It provides financial and educational resources, AI-supported coaching, and real opportunities through its online and offline partnerships, including TikTok and live showcase powerhouse Breaking Sound.
“StrmMusic has long been ahead of the pack in its tools and offerings for artists, yet we continue to bring together every possible resource and connection to help music makers succeed,” notes Geoff Cubitt, CEO North America of StrmMusic. “We’ve built a full-solution platform for music creators, delivering technology, strategic guidance, and real results to empower them.”
About StrmMusic
StrmMusic is a Music Career Accelerator leveraging data, AI, financial support, distribution and label services to advance artists careers independently, sustainably, and without restrictive contracts. Founded in Brazil in 2020, StrmMusic has supported more than 60,000 artists and music professionals across over 70 countries. Leveraging a global dataset of more than 9 million artists and 170 million tracks, our platform delivers personalized solutions powered by artificial intelligence, digital distribution, and flexible financial advances.
In 2025, StrmMusic established its North American headquarters in Chicago — one of the United States’ leading creative and tech hubs — as part of its global expansion and commitment to providing cutting-edge support to artists around the world. At StrmMusic, we believe artists should remain in control of their careers and have access to the best tools the industry has to offer. We are technology. We are creative freedom. We are the future of music.
StrmMusic, the smart label supercharging artists’ trajectories, has announced the appointment of Geoff Cubitt as CEO of StrmMusic North America. The company is establishing its North American headquarters in the centrally located, musically vibrant city of Chicago.
With decades of experience leading digital transformation for global enterprises, Cubitt steps into this pivotal role as the company expands its presence in the US and Canadian markets and brings AI-driven career management, digital distribution, and credit advances to more creators. A two-time Purdue University Hall Of Fame honoree and Stanford University graduate, Cubitt brings a wealth of expertise in innovation, organizational leadership, and entrepreneurship. Over his 30-year career, he has spearheaded digital transformation for major brands including HBO, Adidas, JP Morgan Chase, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and the U.S. Air Force. A visionary in the digital landscape, Cubitt co-founded pioneering digital agency Roundarch, which later became Isobar US.
Under his leadership, Isobar became one of the world’s largest and most successful digital agencies. The company was recognized as a “Leader” in Gartner’s Digital Agency Magic Quadrant and Forrester Research’s Digital Experience Service Provider Wave, as well as one of Forrester's Top 10 Innovation Agencies, earning accolades such as Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies: Top 10 VR/AR and the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Best Digital Craft. Isobar’s expertise also led to historical firsts in music tech innovation: In 2009, the agency created a custom music streaming mobile app for Wilco, a first for established artists looking to stream their entire music catalog.
“Geoff’s track record in digital innovation and strategic growth makes him the ideal leader to drive our expansion in North America,” says Fernando Gabriel, Global CEO of StrmMusic. “His expertise will be paramount in scaling our platform and amplifying our impact on artists in the region.”
Cubitt will lead StrmMusic’s North American efforts from the company’s new headquarters in Chicago, at the city’s entertainment and tech hub, 2112. “In addition to being centrally located between music centers such as LA, NYC, and Nashville, Chicago is one of the top music cities in the U.S.,” Cubitt notes. “It also has a strong base of tech companies and resources. That put Chicago on the radar for us, but what put it over the top is 2112/Fort Knox, a unique hub of the Chicago music and tech ecosystem. 2112 provides the perfect environment for us to quickly plug in and continue our innovative impact on musical artist development through AI, data analytics and financial support.”
Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson welcomes StrmMusic’s decision to locate its headquarters at 2112 and join Chicago’s growing music tech community. “StrmMusic’s decision to call Chicago home reinforces what we already know—our city is where the future of music, tech, and entrepreneurship converge,” said Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. “StrmMusic represents the kind of bold, creative energy that thrives here. Our diverse economy, world-class talent, and central location—along with innovation hubs like 2112—make Chicago the perfect launchpad for companies rewriting the rules. We proudly welcome StrmMusic and congratulate Chicagoland’s own Geoff Cubitt on this exciting next chapter.”
Cubitt’s appointment reinforces StrmMusic’s commitment to global expansion, ensuring that more artists access cutting-edge tools for independence and success in the streaming era. He expressed his enthusiasm for Strm Music, saying, “Strm has built a market-leading, AI-driven platform that supports artists by helping them manage the business of music so they can focus on their calling. What really attracted me was the combination of technology and the great team of musicians and music lovers who are passionate about growing artists' careers.”
About StrmMusic
Founded in Brazil in 2020, StrmMusic quickly emerged as one of LatAm’s leading music tech companies, accelerating the careers of 55,000 artists and music professionals in more than a dozen countries. The “smart label” uses a global data set–analyzing 9 million artists and 170 million tracks–to help musicians establish their own digital footing, then backs up those tailored recommendations with artist-friendly AI, financial support, and artist services.
StrmMusic provides artists with funding and resources in a way that preserves their freedom—supporting their careers without locking them into restrictive contracts, buying up their catalogs, or tying them down for years.
The luck era is over in the music business. StrmMusic (pronounced “stream”), the smart digital label that’s become a virtual fourth major in its burgeoning home market of Brazil, is ushering in a new time when artists control their fates and build their careers methodically and successfully, with a little help from a trusty, industry-savvy copilot.
Already working with artists around the globe, StrmMusic is increasing its presence in the US and North America, ready to shake up the industry in productive, artist-inspiring ways. Harnessing machine learning, data science, and a helpful smart assistant by the name of Quincy, the company aims to give self-managed and mid-career artists the boost they need--without any of the interference or hidden agendas they don’t.
Offering a wide range of artists services, StrmMusic does more than get music to DSPs or hand over quick advances on future streams, though it does do all that and more. In a refreshing departure from other artist services companies, the company provides verified, actionable career guidance at scale via its proprietary Career Navigator. This data-driven approach gives advice that’s already proven effective for hundreds of artists. In 2024 alone, StrmMusic helped the majority of artists they worked with directly in Brazil to advance at least one stage in their career development. Notably, dozens have reached notable places on major streaming services’ charts, moving from complete anonymity to international recognition in less than 12 months.
“The era of waiting to be ‘discovered’ is over. Today, A&Rs and scouting professionals find artists by analyzing their data performance on streaming platforms and social media; only after seeing promising metrics does the human qualitative evaluation begin,” says StrmMusic Co-Founder and CEO Fernando Gabriel. “What artists need most is the ability to strategically grow those metrics, not through luck, but through deliberate, data-informed actions.”
To create its Career Navigator and encourage these actions, StrmMusic analyzed more than 9 million working artists with hundreds of millions of released tracks in dozens of countries to chart the ten repeatable stages that come in nearly every artist’s career. These stages, benchmarked by specific achievements, give artists a clear perspective on where they are and what they need to do next to level up. Once artists reach a certain stage, they are eligible to work directly with the company, which supports their ongoing transformation to household name.
StrmMusic’s unique model for artist development sprang from its founders’ combined vision. One, Gabriel, was a seasoned music business manager and working artist who needed better tech, and one, Thiago Lobão, was an expert in financial market technology who was also obsessed with music. They shared decades of experience in their respective areas, and together, they tackled what would actually make a difference for artists wrestling with career direction and decision fatigue.
The team decided to create a compass to find this direction. They built the free Career Navigator to evaluate an artist’s stage and benchmark each stage to quantifiable data. By adding structure to what was previously based on vibes and feels, StrmMusic can recommend potential creative collaborators, strategies for social media growth and engagement, and other proven methods for growing one’s audience.
Anyone can use the Career Navigator at any phase of their music career. However, once artists reach Stage 4, StrmMusic starts to act as more of a strategic partner, a refreshing contrast to traditional labels. When artists sign a deal, they unlock a larger toolkit including flexible advances to power their ascent. With reasonable, transparent terms, these advances can finance a creative project, promotional campaign, or other key element in an artist’s progression--it’s up to the artist. Once they reach Stage 7, StrmMusic also offers artists an artist development team that supports their strategic goals (and not Strm’s). Artists retain their creative and financial autonomy, their rights, and many of the other perks of independence, while gaining a serious music business partner with global connections.
For artists at any point in their career, StrmMusic has created a smart assistant to further help artists reach the next stage, an AI-powered guide named Quincy. Quincy gives helpful ideas and suggestions in conversational format to artists or their teams and has been trained on music insiders’ advice and strategic decisions. Quincy builds on the data and insights the company used to create the Navigator, and it not only notes what worked for similar artists in the recent past, but also predicts what concrete undertakings are most likely to land based on each individual artist’s profile and trajectory. “Our objective is not to replace trial-and-error, but to minimize it,” explains Gabriel, “helping artists make more strategic decisions while still allowing room for creativity and experimentation.”
StrmMusic’s strategic perspective promises to unite the strong points of current music business models, creating a new and truly useful synthesis for music makers: “Majors get a lot right: they have deep networks, marketing muscle, and the ability to amplify artists globally. But they’re often slow to adapt, clinging to outdated deal structures that don’t reflect the new economics of streaming and direct-to-fan engagement. Indie platforms, meanwhile, sometimes make the opposite error—being so focused on democratization that they don’t provide enough strategic support or capital to help artists scale,” notes Gabriel. “The real opportunity is to combine the best of both worlds. That’s where StrmMusic positions itself, using AI and data science to deliver, at scale and with greater efficiency, what traditional majors offer, but with more alignment to the realities of independent artists.”
